"...This painting deals with the theme of androgynism, which illustrates the idea of perfection from a formal point of view, because there are in the human being equally energies yin and yang. the lower part appears the serpent as a symbol of the kundalini feminine energy which by bhakti (devotion) rises vertically towards the shiva (masculine energy). When united with it, one of two becomes one and the illumination is attained...."
